light I'm Chris aat your host this

morning joined by our friends and guests

come from again I honestly it was a I

think it was Anthony forini from mome

County uh County Clerk I believe we were

at a charity event or something and I

was wearing so much pink and he's like

wow you look like Barbie and I'm like

hey if I look like Barbie I'll take it I

love Barbie he he's like oh HVAC Barbie

and I'm like man that's awesome I should

run with that and she is wearing pink

today uh Eric you're not wearing pink

but uh you you're a big supporter I know

uh let's talk about what you do at RC

Heating and Cooling after that last

segment you know I'm thinking about all

the things as a homeowner I should be

doing or thinking about to run my system

as efficiently as possible in a Michigan

summertime yeah oh my goodness because

we know it it like it goes from like 65

degrees to like 95 degrees overnight and

then that heat that mugginess is going

to put a stress on our system running it

throughout the summertime and you know

Eric you're just mentioning about

maintaining the system and coming out

Kayla you were talking about the

thermostats and being able to set them

and kind of forgetting it so that as a

homeowner you know that you're running

the system properly I think whether the

house is 50 years old or even 5 years

old some people are working their system

way too hard because it's I don't know

if it's not set right I don't know if

the Builder did it right I I had issues

with my system and I have a relatively

new home where I had to have them come

out and reset a lot of things just

because the system was R running way too

hard and then I think of my energy bills

these days given inflation given the

economy we've got a lot of budget

conscious listeners out there and you've

got some maintenance plans that are

going to help them I do absolutely we

have three different maintenance plans

that you can join so that you have you

can set it and forget it so that you

know that your system is going to be

maintained properly twice a year at

minimum and that it is going to be

working for you in your home so I always

say HVAC your home is the lungs of your

home the biggest thing is we want you to

be comfortable you want to be

comfortable right so setting the

thermostat at 62 is not going to help

the system run um now if you want to

wear a coat during the summer in your

house hey some people do it they think

it's going to get um cooler quicker and

that's not how it works that's not how

the system works so um with our

maintenance plans we come out we explain

everything we educate you on how to

properly maintain your home for what you

need and with our plans there's three

different levels we have the ultimate we

have the peace of mind and the

performance performance is as low as $22

a month peace of mind at 32 and the

ultimate with all the bells and whistles

is $52 a month all of our plans come

with a 21 point inspection so that's the

bare minimum that anyone would do and we

go above and beyond with that um

accessory maintenance so if you got a

humidifier condensate pump media filter

electronic filter oh the work goes you

know the stuff goes on and we also check

your thermostat if you don't have a

programmable thermostat we will provide

you with one you can choose there's

Wi-Fi ones there's fancy ones there's

less fancy ones um again come out and

educate you and ask what your home needs

download an app you can have it on the

phone yep yeah we something you can

think about when you're vacation and

you're away from home yeah cuz you want

to lower your temperatures in the winter

or in the summer when you're not home if

you're not if the air isn't flowing in

your home you're just you're paying for

nothing you're paying for air that you

can't even feel so a Wi-Fi thermostat is

is awesome I have one when I go on

vacation I can look at my home on my app

and I can see okay well now I'm going to

turn it up because I'm almost home or

I'm going to make sure that my system's

on and working with a lot of these new

thermostats you can actually see if your

unit is offline if it's not working

properly um it'll alert you these these

new systems are highly efficient so

that's exactly what we want to do to

save on our energy bills and a lot of

these things can save you up to 15% a

year on your energy bills um and that is

a lot because we all know how expensive

our bills are when we run our AC in the

summer um absolutely I mean saving 15 %

alone on your energy bills and you don't

even have to do anything except for sign

up for our maintenance plan and forget

that you did until we call you and say

hey we're coming out to maintenance your

unit and you're like all right I forgot

about that but come on over we get a lot

of those yeah and you've got a wonderful

array of plans here between the

performance the peace of mind and the

ultimate the performance as low as

$22 a month and that does include two

maintenance visits per year per year

Eric what do you see when you come out

that a lot of homeowners have missed or

systems that have been just kind of let

to their own resources without the

proper maintenance so some own

homeowners will still take the host to

the condensing unit outside and get the

cottonwoods off but there there's always

dirt inside the aluminum fins that you

can't see so you can actually I can put

a hose up to it and the water coming on

From the Inside Out is is brown and and

then it'll be clear so just because it

looks clean it might not be and I can

throw my refrigerant gauges on there and

see my head pressure go up and down and

that after I clean it it'll go lower uh

higher pressure higher temperatures and

that just makes your unit your

compressor run longer and it I always

use the example with

customers to static pressure and any

motor trying to run hard um your if your

condenser is super dirty it's like

putting a finger on the end of a straw

and trying to blow through it eventually

your lungs are going to give out it's

just it's harder to blow through the

smaller hole obviously and

uh just just rinsing off the condenser

get getting all the actually taking off

all the casing of it and soaping it up

and rinsing it from outside in is is key

to getting the performance out of that

air conditioner so even though the the

homeowner is rinsing it off and they're

trying their best to maintain it we

still want to come and put the

specialized coil cleaner on it this you

know special soap to make sure that you

get in all the nooks and crannies yeah

so important to think about and this is

an ideal time of year right I mean it's

not even technically summertime yet it's

going to be very soon to get their

system checked out and maintained so

that they can run it throughout the

summer Eric absolutely uh you would you

would want to get any issues beforehand

uh

there's certain things like the

contactor I was talking about earlier

and the capacitors and any low voltage

wiring sometimes the weed whacker will

hit the the little two wire going out

out near the line set to the unit and

then your unit's not coming on sometimes

uh when a capacitor goes bad let's say

uh the fan will still be running outside

so you think it's still working but it's

not and and all those are all things

that our tchs will look at and they'll

figure out and they'll they'll get the

AC work and dissipating the heat from

inside your house as as best as it

possibly can so when that fan runs

outside you're wasting energy because

you're not really cooling the inside so

that's just another thing that you can

know ahead of time when you do your

maintenance they're going to know that

your capacitor is dying or is dead so

that's the the biggest key is saving

money and we want to make sure we reduce

the repairs costly repairs for all of

our customers if we can come out and you

can spend let's say $100 on one service

call do an overview before you even

enter into a maintenance plan I would

rather do that because I'm going to save

you

$500 that next week if it happens to go

down and your motors's dead preventative

maintenance is key and planning for

those costly expenses is amazing because

we don't always have $500 or $110,000

sitting in our bank account for these

expenses yeah I don't think a lot of

people people do and and the savings

that they may have had just a few years

ago they've eaten through given the

inflation given the economy given the

concerns that people have with their

monthly bills so this is where you guys

present such a value proposition to our

listeners through your maintenance plans

you're coming out to the homes it's just

wonderful that you all work like a

family you treat your customers like a

family and you're walking them through

what they need to know about the system

its function its operation and whether

or not they need to upgrade they don't

have to replace the entire system but

they could put in like a Wi-Fi

thermostat just for example especially

if they're traveling to and from say a

summer Cottage through the year uh

through the summer and then don't want

to put uh that kind of cost into the

system if they're not even home there's

a lot of benefits here Kayla there are

so many benefits to a Wi-Fi thermostat

the reason why is because we all have

this thing where out of sight out of

mind and your furnace is usually in your

basement or your attic or a closet and

your condenser is outside unless it's

broken you don't know that it's there so

having a thermostat to tell you that

it's there and to give you updates and

let you know like hey something's not

right and it's on our phones that's key

your face just lights right up when you

talk about these thermostats I I could

tell you're in the right business folks
