About RC Heating & Cooling
Family-owned since 1985 and one of Michigan’s only woman-owned, ENERGY STAR®-certified HVAC contractors, built on integrity, craftsmanship, and care.
The Heart of Everything We Do
From certified HVAC technicians to friendly office staff, each member of our team is dedicated to honest, high-quality service built on integrity and care, working together to keep Michigan homes and businesses safe, efficient, and comfortable year-round.
A Legacy of Trusted Comfort
Proudly serving Southeast Michigan since 1985, RC Heating & Cooling is a family-owned HVAC company built on integrity, craftsmanship, and care. Originally founded as Ron’s Custom Heating & Cooling, the business was rebranded in 2022 when Eric and Kaylajoy took ownership, continuing a legacy of trusted comfort for homes and businesses across Shelby Township and Metro Detroit.
As one of Michigan’s only woman-owned and ENERGY STAR®-certified HVAC contractors, we provide expert heating, cooling, and indoor air quality services for both residential and commercial clients, from furnace and air conditioning repair to rooftop unit installations. We’re committed to your comfort through quality service, education, and honest communication.
Our Owner on FOX 2 Detroit
On August 4, 2026, our owner Kaylajoy Yaek joined FOX 2 Detroit’s Money Works to talk about Velocity’s free six month Momentum incubator program for small businesses in Macomb County. She went on air the way most of Metro Detroit already knows her: as Kayla “HVAC Barbie” Yaek, owner of RC Heating & Cooling.
Running a family-owned HVAC company since 2022 has meant learning the business side right alongside the trade, and that is exactly what the segment was about: what local owners need to grow, and where they can go to get it.

They’re professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and, most importantly, they seem to genuinely care about taking care of their customers. What I appreciate is the straightforward approach.
